We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Middle and Senior School Counsellor

Replacement Position (60% workload)

The role of the School Counsellor is to promote and support the psychosocial well-being of students in the Middle and Senior School.


  • Conduct psychosocial assessments of students and families around school-related issues
  • Provide ongoing supportive counselling with referred students and families
  • Provide mediation and counselling to small groups of students
  • Formulate and implement school and classroom-based intervention plans (including being a part of a student’s Individualized Education Plan)
  • Consult and collaborate with administrators and staff around both individual students and global school issues
  • Refer students and families to outside referrals & act as the liaison as needed
  • Identify psychosocial curriculum needs in collaboration with students, teachers, administrators, and parents;
  • Facilitate psycho-social classes and parent workshops
  • Coordinate crisis intervention
  • Present and take part in staff development programming
  • Attend grade level and student concern meetings
  • Access clinical supervision and consultation

Position Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant area of study
  • Expertise in child and adolescent development and family systems
  • Knowledge of group work
  • Knowledge of school systems and school-related issues
  • Knowledge of rules of confidentiality and consent
  • Ability to address both the global needs of the school and the individual needs of students
  • Eligibility for appropriate professional order membership
