We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Director of Admissions

The Director of Admissions is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all aspects related to recruitment and enrolment management. This includes new admissions as well as re-enrolment planning aligned with school values and mission.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve as ambassador of ECS, representing who we are, what we believe and making families feel welcome
  • Co-create, oversee and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure the School meets its enrolment objectives.
  • Lead and evaluate the admissions, onboarding, retention, and withdrawal processes with input from the Leadership Team and various stakeholders across the School
  • Report trends, measure performance, and monitor key indicators of attrition, retention, recruitment and enrolment. Interpret these for the Leadership team and Board of Directors, as required
  • Develop creative strategies and multi-channel promotional materials for prospective students and their families
  • Introduce the School to prospective candidates and diverse families through a variety of methods which include personal interviews and tours, virtual meetings and written communication and guide them from the beginning of an inquiry through to their first day of school.
  • Plan and coordinate all admissions-related events involving prospective students and their families .
  • Prepare an ongoing analysis of ECS’s direction with regard to eligibility certificates to study in an English school.
  • Oversee the application of MEES requirements for permanent codes and eligibility certificates
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with outside institutions or groups who can be helpful in attracting mission appropriate students.
  • Build effective working relationships with faculty members and staff to help support the admissions and enrolment process at key moments during the recruitment cycle.
  • Represent the School at external events (education fairs, outside school visits, information sessions, testing days, CAIS and QAIS admission meetings, etc.)
  • Attend regional and national meetings and workshops to develop professional skills and knowledge and connect ECS to broader conversations around best practice in enrollment management.
  • Manage, mentor, and support the Admissions team.


  • Undergraduate degree
  • Background in the education field, preferably in an independent school
  • Extremely well organized with attention to detail
  • Data-driven
  • Experience in providing strategic counsel to internal stakeholders and senior administrators including speaking, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strategic and creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A healthy sense of humour
  • Team player who is proactive, innovative, diplomatic, and dynamic.
  • Bilingual (oral and written)
