ALUMNAE AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS COORDINATOR

Would you like to be part of a close-knit team, committed to challenging, guiding and encouraging both students and staff to achieve their personal potential?

Trafalgar School for Girls is seeking a dynamic, relationship-oriented and organized individual who will report to the Director of Advancement to develop and execute alumnae and community programs and events. This position will evolve as Trafalgar prepares to launch a major fundraising campaign.

Responsibilities – Alumnae Relations

  • Cultivate and foster relationships and a sense of community with alumnae
  • Support and liaise with the Trafalgar Old Girls’ Association (TOGA) and the Executive.
  • Plan, organize and execute all alumnae activities, programs and events including local and chapter reunions (some evenings/weekends required).
  • Maintain regular communication with alumnae.
  • Expand and maintain alumnae database, through personal contact with individual alumnae members. Ensure accurate biographical, career information and notes.
  • Educate and engage alumnae to further assist the school’s mission via financial resources and volunteer service.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Communications to generate materials and various communication pieces regarding alumnae events and activities and promotion.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement in research and fundraising; routinely identify and qualify alumnae prospects.

Responsibilities - Community Relations

  • Assist with parent volunteer initiatives and liaise with Trafalgar’s Parent Community Network helping orchestrate their annual fundraising event and other parent-related events.
  • Plan, execute and support annual school-wide events such as the Smart Parenting in the City Series.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement in research and fundraising; routinely identify and qualify alumnae prospects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Passionate about people and relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
  • Collaborative, flexible, effective team player
  • Proficient with Raiser’s Edge (NXT) or similar constituent database, Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Strong sense of diplomacy, tact and maturity. Ability to work with highly confidential information in a discrete manner.
  • Knowledge of the independent school environment an asset
